Well, I did it!!

It has been a while since I have had time to blog... I have been busy making big changes in my life!
I am officially unemployed!!
I left Kaplan on Friday. After 5 years it was time to say goodbye! Hopefully someday they will learn that taking advantage of their employees and paying them dirt is not a fair way to do business. I resigned making sure that my resignation letter gave some insight to my feelings about the director that I had and the job requirements vs the pay...and while the letter was very professional... they did not take me up on the 2 week notice that I offered. Luckily, I expected that and had already prepared to leave the same day.
So now it is on to packing, moving, and job hunting....
I already have an interview this week and have applied to a couple a of positions, but if you know of anything that would be interesting for me, please send the info my way!
I will post more later...

And the Crazy July Continues....

What a fun day on the Farm. My God Children that are in town from Italy and their grands, my aunt Mar and uncle Fred, came out to visit the farm yesterday. My mom and Caleb and Peter's dad, and friend, Steve also came. We had a full house. Steve brought Fresh Trout to cook on the grill and amazingly enough I think Caleb was his biggest fan for the fish! Everybody else had "bangers and mash" or a hamburger! Thanks to Peter's "grilly feva"...

Uncle Fred road a four wheeler for the first time ever and all the kids played in the yard. Peter spent some time doing one of my favorite past times.... bug catching. All the kids, big and small, took a spin ... literally... on the horse walker/swing. I don't have any pics of the kids with the horses... but aunt Mar does... so I will have wait to post those. But Maggie, Playboy, Chex, and Noble were all on their best behavior.
Britton had a little trouble sharing while all the chaos was at its height... but all in all it was a fantastic night ...
and after all was quiet and Britton jumped in the bath... He THANKED me for washing his hair!!! for those of you who have been around... you know this is a miracle in the making. Hair washing is normally his biggest battle each night. Tonight he said... see that wasn't so bad... as we rinsed soapy water out of his hair and laughed about how proud we were of him for not yelling and crying. To whoever is listening and to God Almighty!!! thank you for getting us through he hair washing traumas and on to a more fun bath time!!! We had Chocolate Milk to celebrate and Peter took him to a big breakfast on the way to school this morning... Hopefully it will encourage him to always let it be this much fun to take a bath!!

Gob Bless America!

The 4th of July is always a BLAST....

We celebrated at the Beach House again this year and had a whole day on the beach! We spent more time in the water than out, I laid out for the first time this year (other than in the Bahamas) and we ate like there was no tomorrow.
Even my dad found time to relax! Kelly and I found out that we were not the only dribblers... and that with as fun as building the castles were... that is was much more fun to tear them down.
Peter and his dad, Kelly's fam, the Vatter crew, Bill, and David all came out to celebrate with us. The fireworks were amazing!

A Very Merry Unbirthday to You!!!

It is so nice to have my God Children in town. Victoria and Annabelle live in Italy and are normally only here for about week each year. So we have a tradition of celebrating their birthdays (June and December) in which ever week they are here... this year it is the week of July 4th. So July 3rd was the celebration! We had a party at the beach house with Kelly and her kids, my parents, Peter, and the Vatters. It was tons of funs!! We collected shells on the beach, sang Alice in Wonderlands' A Very merry Unbirthday, and had cake!!! It is so nice to have them home for a while!
