Bahama Mama

There were so many beautiful pics... it was hard to pic just one... but this one I thought showed off a little "Mad Skeels"... in photography.... See I love my camera link for more.

I took a vacation from both jobs this month and went on what was supposed to be a diving adventure.... of course I got a head cold and was unable to actually dive... so... as my co worker and friend, Kat, says... well you'll just have to be forced to relax then... ON VACATION... as if I should need a reminder as to what relaxing means or permission to do it! Anyway... When we were supposed to be diving in Ft. Lauderdale ... Peter and I booked a spot on a head boat and went off shore to fish. Then we boarded a LITTLE cruise ship and had our first umbrella drink by 1:00 on Saturday and the relaxing began. We went Snorkeling and visited an all inclusive resort on Sunday and were back home by dinner time on Monday... amazing what can be done in 24 hours these days. We had a ton of R&R and agreed that next time we'd plan for longer and do all inclusive from the beginning... as our free cruise ended up costing us about $1500.00. :(

However.... I made a friend who showed up in my cabin every night named Fred.... seen left and we agreed that the Gombay Smash is the drink of choice in the Bahamas.

GOMBAY SMASH`

Who has time to Blog?!!

So I will type to catch up first, then I will type to keep up later this week.
June has been a whirl wind of excitement! Peter and I had that crazy planned weekend that I mentioned in the earlier Blog titled something like.. my other job...
We attended his 20 year Middleton High School Reunion and had a blast. Lots of his friends are really fun and a pleasure to meet. Thursday night we caught up with everyone at a cocktail hour at Vendue Inn, Friday we took Britton and went to the River Dogs Game and Saturday we has a really nice evening at the Visitor's Center Downtown. Some where in there we also threw a great 4th birthday party for Britton... I have uploaded the pictures to the Internet so feel free to check them out under the link to the left called, "I love my camera!" We had so many wonderful friends come out to celebrate with us! The Hulk...aka.... My Dad...aka... Big Daddy... attended and made a big entrance! The kids had a great time playing on the farm! We also had a surprise visitor... Donald and Marybeth brought Charlie by and of course everyone had a turn giving attention and kisses to the new baby. Thanks for coming everyone! and when we thought it was time to catch our breath... Peter and I were off to our favorite neighbor's wedding. Matt and Ashley, it was beautiful ... but the pic I am posting by far is my fave... Ashley realized she forgot her bouquet about 5 steps in to her "here comes the bride walk." On Sunday, we of course celebrated Father's Day!

with Church at Calvary and lunch with Papou... and then a beach house get together that was very relaxing! with a lot of napping and golf watching.

WHEW!!!! and then it was back to my real job on Monday.. :)

WOW...

Saturday, Peter and I and our friend Paul went offshore about 80 miles... while we caught no fish that far out (despite having Peter and Paul with me... haha a little bible humor,) it was an incredible day. After a rough ride out, everything laid down about 5:00am and the sun began to rise... literally. All I could keep in my mind while watching this awe inspiring event that happens everyday that I will never get tired of... is the words to one of my favorite worship songs.

"Who imagines the sun and gave source to its light, yet concealed it to bring us the coolest of nights..... You are amazing God." and in that same song... "You put the stars in the sky and you know them by name... You are amazing God."

This is such and understatement. The stars are the least of his impressive creation. Watching a school of amber jack swim along side and under your boat, seeing the sun skip across the 5 foot swells of clear blue ocean, or hooking and releasing a shark into the deep will truly put a person in their place. Creation is such an awesome undertaking!

All in all .... we stopped off at the Charleston 60 and Reef 33 and I hooked a 14" and a 16" Black Sea Bass (one of the uglier fish in the sea, but apparently good eating) .... and a HUGE Grouper... that got away... Peter hooked a shark and Hog Fish and Paul hooked a 3 foot amber jack.
Next time I go ... I'll take more pictures... but here's a 360 view of nothing around... and my favorite of Peter from the day.
