Go Tigers!!

So the Tigers didn't win this weekend.... it didn't stop the tiger fans from wearing orange and showing up! I went to Clemson for the 1st time in years to see my beloved professor Dr. Linnell retire. I was able to speak about his influence on my career choices and I can say that it really came full circle.
He is a Citadel Alumni who studied Technology Educaiton, I learned Technology Education from him, and now, I teach technology Education at the Citadel!!! How crazy life is!
I was abel to catch up with a good friend, Judy, and say hi to old professors. I am sorry I did not get in touch sooner. It was great to see everyone!
I stayed the weekend for the game and to visit with some old friends. I did not take one picture if you can believe it!! I have lost the habit maybe. It seems like the camera has come out less and less since it came back from the 4 week stay at the repair shop. Either way .... if you just close your eyes and see orange and hear tiger rag... that pretty much sums up the scenery. The retirement was on Friday. I had to wait for some friends to get off work so I headed to Anderson. I was surprised with my directionally challenged self that I could have navigated the Clemson and surrounding areas with my eyes closed. (I sometimes forget I was there for 7 years) I got a much needed mani/pedi in the perfect color, (had I know the color would be so perfect ... goes with reds, yellows, ORANGES of course, and pinks) I would have gotten the label info. I headed back in to Clemson to go out with Mete... my Turkish friend, and few others. We didn't really hit downtown bars or anything but we went to Keith Street Bar and Grill and had a good time. Nothing has changed...... Buffy is still, and probably always will be, the head bartender at Tiger Town Tavern, a 2 mile radius from the stadium is covered in Clemson tents and tailgaters, and downtown is basically orange. I loved being on campus again. Saturday, I watched the game at what used to be Explorers and then tailgated with friends some of you may remember, James and Darla King, Rob and Molly Moore, and Rob's whole Chem E crew minus Matt... It was really good to see them again. It had been a long time. I then walked quite a ways to tailgate with Donald Spann and his crew... which included Mylan, Jermel, and Jeremy and all of their lovely ladies except Marybeth who stayed home with little Charlie. We all ended up at Jermel's place to hang out until about 10:30 when I realized that my stuffy nose had turned into a full blow fever and cough. So I left and went straight to bed. When I got up late today, I said good bye to Mete and drove around to soem old addresses I had whiel in school. The one in Central left the biggest impression on me. I drove by and could have closed my eyes to hear my sweet haley barking at the sound of me coming home and leaping arounf int he fresh fallen snow and wearing that stupid blue snow hat ... that against all belief, SHE would let me take it off of her. (For those of you who never knew my girl... I will post a blog soon to remember her.) I had lunch at Mete's mom's resturant..... A favorite and highly recommended. (The Rivera on hwy123) I had a plate I have only ever seen there and crave often, The Iskander Kabab and of course a piece of Belin's baklava. FABULOUS!!! I got on the road from there. My only regret was that I did not get to see everyone. I will be back in that direction for a horse show in Pelzer in two weeks time.... Hopefully, I will by to steal some kisses from Charlie Spann and visit Mr. and Mrs. Morris in Wallhalla. It was a grand time announcing my egagement, wearing orange, walking the hills, and catching up with freinds! This time I won't let so many years go by before I do it again! There is no doubt... once a tiger, always a tiger!
GO TIGERS!!!
