Well Done, Playboy!!
The results are in and Peter has succeeded in making a place for himself in the Cutting World. Peter qualified in 4 different classes for the NCHA Eastern Nationals! THIS IS BIG! The best part is that Mr. Playboy's Bill (his recently retired show horse) is the r
eason for 2 of the 4qualifications. What a way to end his career as an fantastic show horse! He will be retired now to train Britton and me to ride and cut and make a family sport of it.
CC's Smart Pep is the one who Peter will take to the show! She has proven to be quite a horse. She and Peter qualified in 1 class and she and a pro level rider, Van Young, qualified in another. Peter is considering riding her in the $2000 Non Pro and the $20,000 Novice Horse classes in Jackson, Mississippi in March! I am so proud of him. It is becoming increasingly clear that my life is about to be a horseman's wife. Peter is gone almost every weekend now with horse shows and training dates. I love to go with him but reality has set in that I won't make every show. I just pray that 2009 will continue to be increasingly more successful at this new level of competition.
CC has big shoes to fill.... She has already proven herself by helping Peter to gain his achievement buckle and take a seat in the Augusta Futurity this year. I am sure the hoof prints playboy has left in the arenas of Area 18 will be hard to forget but the future of Palmetto Cutting and Performance Horses is looking very promising!
