I would be on cloud nine but the weight of this thing on my finger is pulling me back down to earth. Despite the weekend be an absolute fairytale, I am back at work today wishing I had nothing better to do than plan and daydream about the months to come. This Blog will become a store house for voting and ideas on wedding plans over the next few months... so if you are not into weddings probably best to check back in summer of 2009.... of course it will then be a store house for life in the Plott home... which, for quite sometime, will be a mushy, gushy love story... you'll probably wish you had the wedding details back. :)
Peter and I spent the weekend in NC with working cows. We loved telling everybody and showing off the ring. It was great to come to work this morning and share the big news as well. I will probably try to surprise him this afternoon and go by his office. I am also going to swing byt the old Kaplan place... They hung un there for the wait with me and it woudl be a shame to not let them know it was worth every second!! With my birthday being tomorrow, Woodlands on Wednesday, Family Reunion this weekend, Kelly's bday on the 3rd and Peter's on the 4th... I have lots going on and am already off to a very busy engagement!
I am LOVING it!!!!!
Thanks again to everyone who has wished us well and congratulated us! We are very happy!

We Got Engaged
We're Engaged!! Peter asked me to marry him!!! Whoohoo! The engagement was very Peter..... easy and simple, but incredibly romantic. We were daydreaming on the fourwheeler about how we would lay out everything on the land and I asked where will our front porch be.... He took me to it. (little did I know that I was helping him set it all up) He held both of my hands and said something along the lines of how it wouldn't be exciting except that he was going to share it with me. Then he said "I would love to have you as my wife, would you spend the rest of your life with me?" I, of course ... cried and threw my arms around him... at which point he had to ask me, "do want to put on the ring?" I said YES to both and he slid the ring on my finger. He marked the spot with an 'x' to ensure that it actually will become the front porch some day. After a few romantic moments, we decided it was time to tell everyone and we are excited! We called mom and Kelly right away. They didn't answer, so we called Bo and Dad, and Papou... No one was answering, so I sent text msg to Bo, Dad, and a few other family members.... from there the news started to flow pretty quickly. We went to dinner with Kelly's family at CrabShack and came back to my mom's house for a champaigne toast with mom, dad, and Aunt Cindy... and then we went back to Peter's and visited our late night neighbors, Matt and Ashley! I must have talked to 2 dozen people and there were several I couldn't get in touch with at the hour it all happened. I hope to tell everyone soon how ecstatic I am! The pictures from the night aren't terribly flattering.... so it is time to get serious about fitting into the perfect dress. But The ring is fantastic and the perfect fit! There are 3 stones... all three are family heirlooms. One is from his dad, Alan Votta! - My future father in law and one is from his mother, Demi, who passed away in 2007 and the 3rd is from his father who passed away when Peter was very young. Obviously I never knew his father, but I was very close to his mother and I love Papou (Alan) like family already... I am very blessed to wear such a wonderful representation of love and hope for a future! Love to everyone who made tonight special for us... especially my family! We are looking at a May 2009 wedding ... I will post the date for everyone to mark on thier calanders as soon as I can!
WHOOHOOO!!! Getting Married!

Back in the Swing of Things
Well, I have to say, I certainly enjoyed all of time off, but being back at work everyday has given me a new kind of energy and excitment about getting up in the mornings. I spent pretty much all day today working on my new website to eventually link to the ITS departments homes page... You can check out the "underconstruction" link here:

I started going to a girls night last week on Tuesdays and am considering a bible study on Thursdays. It will be pretty busy once I start adding evening trainings and find time to spend with Peter... but I think it is good to be busy.
Other than my car... which warrents its own blog that I will publish when I have time... life is GOOD!!!
Britton moved up to the Cardinal's Class in school. His day is much more like it will be in Kindergarten now. He has homework that we are calling his activities... Last week he worked on 3s and Cs.

The Citadel
WOW! I am working at The Citadel. How long have I waited to be employeed by a University in the technology education field... that's right.. since I graduated. I am so excited and love my new job. They haven't given me a whole lot of direction but have allowed me a lot of time to created a job description. My office is very Government issued... but I will spruce it up in time. My technology is state of the art compared to any other position I have had. I guess when you work in the ITS department the help desk isn't so hard to reach! :)

My Time Off
Okay... okay... I got the third degree for not having anything posted in over 2 weeks. As I said in the last blog... it is hard to log in and up load pictures to a computer being shared by the whole house. So here is an update. I interviewed and was offered a job at AP Recovery... but not the job I wanted so I turned it down. After the heart attack of my decision to still be unemployeed clamed down, I realized I was very happy to have passed up the position. It looks like I may now have the oportunity to work at the Citadel in a field I love and on a campus I love! I have not been made an official offer, so if you're reading now... stop and pray that I do. But, as for now
I AM OFF!!!! and loving it!
Labor Day Weekend!
We pretty much spent the days at the beach. Saturday, Chuck and Dylan came to play with Britton and me at Folly Beach and Monday, the family crew was there. The kids were so much fun. I got a lot of sun and the food was great, as always!
Shag Festival 2008:
I did not actually take any goo dpictures of the Shag festival because we were too busy dancing adn enjoying the show... but it was fantastic.
Caleb Thinks He's Michael Phelps!
I bought the kids some of those Shami towels to use a the pool and Caleb is learning to be quite the little swimmer. He thinks he is just like Michael Phelps.
